On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard call records and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another phone message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I realize I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "What if there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The jury was told that through electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a effort to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the data, told the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted close associates of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court was told message exchanges between the two individuals, in that autumn, discussing trying to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from utensils at a dining venue.

"We need to take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their residence, the defendant sent a text which expressed: "We're currently sitting near the McCanns' house with our lights out resembling detectives. I desired to do this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case continues.
