The United Kingdom is ready to advance with utilizing the full worth of seized Russia's holdings to support the Ukrainian defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They added that the decision would be implemented in close cooperation with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow began its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian assets had solely been taken from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward employing the full value of the immobilized Russia's state holdings to end the war.

He noted that more measures over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This declaration is subsequent to EU representatives met in Copenhagen previously to debate utilizing seized Russian holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to confiscate or otherwise use seized Russian holdings, as reported by news outlets.

The value of frozen Russian holdings in the EU is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Russia carried out large-scale bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on recently, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were killed and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the attack, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a message on X following the strike, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack focused on civilian and energy infrastructure.

"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL programme, under which Nato countries acquire weapons from the US to provide to Ukraine.

While applauding the Britain's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the program, as well as enforce additional restrictions on Russia.
