Approximately fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations show the substance was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any harm in association with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.
A senior representative said the vandalism made him stunned and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
